I have had this system about 7 months now and this laptop is simply the best!!! Where else can you get a laptop with memory card slots, firewire and 64 bit architecture all built in and under $800 dollars. I did check the laptop forum websites that mentioned the cosmetic hinge cracks, but I think that issue was long ago resolved. If you have to manually hold down the power button to shut off the computer after SP2 updates, you can try downloading a newer BIOS. You can find 00F08P00.ROM on the web. This immediately fixed my power down issue. I am going to buy another one of these laptops soon and I will upgrade the RAM to 1GB. That will make this fast, reliable machine even faster. I fully recommend this system. Tiger Direct delivered it like new, no scratches at all. I was totally impressed!!!! Keep up the work Tiger Direct. |

Great laptop for the price. Problems with SP2 were easily solved. Runs good for the hardware and price. Absolute best buy if this is the config you are looking for. |

Absolutely love this machine. Unreal tournament runs very smooth on this laptop,not to mention mmorpgs. Guild Wars and Final Fantasy can be played without any problems whatsoever. Doom 3 on the other hand is going to require a RAM update, which is possible.Yep, RAM can be updated to 1GB. A really nice big screen for crisp graphics. Had a problem downloading SP2, turns out needed a fix which is now available at emachines website. Oh and its also good for homework and papers too, thought I'd put that in there. Shipping was pretty good, compared to lots of other websites. Other than SP2, I can't complain about anything else. I leave my laptop on for days and it still handles everything fine. Emachines did a remarkable job on this piece of hardware. Don't know how they did it for such a price. |

By Far the Sweetest Laptop You Can Buy for the Price Shipping was Extremly Fast i could'nt belive my eyes when i set them on this laptop
Everything looked so perfict it runs like a dream
i use it for gaming school some programming
it smokes it all, Emachines own my friend has a Dell Laptop for $1,000 it stinks so bad compaired to this laptop its built rock solid like a Beast!!!! you can even upgrade it the ram to 1 GB 256 or some thing and it will smoke everything even more witch im planning on doing
i play Unreal Tournament 2004 on it F.E.A.R every thing! perfict for hard core gamers on the Move!!!! it runs like a $1,650 laptop :D |

Wow bought this refurbished laptop and its awesome. This is my first laptop. I have built many of mega powered desktops but this laptop takes the cake. Have some concerns regarding hinge cracks but as of yet no cracks. My laptop never shuts off and works without skipping a beat. Used this laptop for games too and was very impressed. The wireless internet connection thusfar has been flawless. A BIG THUMBS UP TO EMACHINES FOR THIS BADBOY!!!!!! |
