SmartErase
“Quick Erase” only erases the information stored in the Lead-in area and data stored on the first track of the disc. As a result, a drive can not read the disc anymore, but with data recovery software there is a chance that some data can still be recovered from the parts of the disc that have not been overwritten.
“Full Erase” overwrites the complete disc. It takes more time then a “Quick Erase”, but all the data will be permanently erased.

Super AllWrite is the new compatibility standard from Lite-On which allows the DVD writer to write to any disc media: DVD +/- R(W), DVD- RAM and Double Layer. I ordered one of these thinking it was going to perform well. It had drivers problems constantly. I get new drivers and the lightscribe dies. Get liscribe drivers and the DVD-DL burning doesn't work. Wasted money on new software thinking it was Nero. CS was EXTREMELY rude with me, and cut off communications. Will never buy Lite-ON again. |

I have 2 of these, I have used Lite-ON drives for years and have been happy. Had 1 older one to just quit, it was only 6 months old and I only used it 2 or 3 times. I have 1 that is 2 years old, I probly have burned 30 or 40 DL disks with it and have never made a coster. This drive is fast, and not to noisy. Great drive, great price! |

This burner works very well and is one of the best values available. I like the lightscribe feature. It does require you to buy ligtscribe dvdr's to take advantage of the lightscribe labeling, but it produces a legible label without using time, labels, ink or toner to produce them. I will probably be buying another one of these drives. |

This is my first litescribe burner, but have had no problems what so ever. I've had this for about 8 months. I'm a believer sometimes in "you get what you pay for", so I was a little hesitant on the low price, but don't let that steer you away. Great price for a really cool feature adding that extra personal touch to the burned disc...without having to use ink. It might be my computer, but I've noticed that it takes on average 20 minutes to burn an image on the disc, assuming you have images on the entire surface. With just simple text, it takes on average about 14 minutes. Would buy again! |
