i don't know if it was the computer itself or vista but not even two weeks after getting the laptop, windows wouldn't start up. I had to wait another two weeks for customer service to send me a recovery cd. That didn't work, so i reformatted the hard drive. I've heard of this exact thing happening to other computers of different brands. I rated the laptop based on the two weeks that i used it before it died. It was fast and the computer itself looks very nice and expensive. ps Gateway customer service sucks.

I love the design of this laptop, the performance is great so far(I've had it a little over a week), I'm not a very advanced pc user so for me this thing is awesome. The keyboard and touchpad are very nice, the screen is super crisp and I'm very satisfied with the sound. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Pro: The laptop comes with parts that are generally for $800+ computers. The lid is a little plasticky, but inside is well finished in black brushed aluminum. The keyboard is nice, a little loud but still smooth and feels good. The media buttons at the top are finicky. That and the lid are a -1 on quality.
The performance is steady and it can handle the programs (PS CS3, FL Studio) I've thrown at it. GPU can run older games well (tried RA2 and Civ4) though I wouldn't try anything much more intense; movies play smoothly. Good Wifi card...
Cons: I have had this computer for just over a week, and I can't figure out if it has Bluetooth or not. A Gateways site and service rep said it does, and there is a Fn button on the computer for it. No specs on Gateway or retail mention it though. When I try to link a device it doesn't work, could be Windows 7s fault (its the RC version.)
Overall I'm happy, good solid computer, just weird about the Bluetooth. FYI touchpad is big enough 2in diamete
