If you were one of the people that snagged a working refurbished unit at $110, this GPS is definitely a lot of value for the money. The maps are a bit old, but relevant enough if you only use it for the occasional drive. It's a bit slower than my some GPS' at calculating or re calculating a route, but the algorithms are pretty solid. The POI's are pretty good and have come in handy over and over when trying to locate gas, food and local attractions. Volume and brightness are good. My main two gripes:
1. The holder, which doesn't use the ball and socket design. It uses two pivot points that must be screwed tight to hold the position.
2. The Daylight savings time doesn't seem to want to reflect the new DST date. This might be a fault of the refurbished unit though... |

Works fine, good deal for the money but arrived missing one of the nuts that is used to tighten the arm that attaches to the clamp on the windshield. Lost in the refurbishment process I guess. |

Looked great out of the box. Updated the unit before I used it. Lightning fast operation. The large screen is very clear. The POI is little dated, 2007, but there were businesses listed that have been out of business since 2002. My subdivision was developed in 2006, my street is not on the map. I just used a house address that was near for home. Easy to use, anyone can use it. Not the latest and greatest, but for the money a great buy on a great product. I would like to see a mpg on the trip program. |

Hello,
I bought refurbished and was happy at the beginning. After about a week, the receiver started locking up and it stopped acquiring the signal. It would show 8 satellites in yellow color, but it would not lock the signal. Since then, it became unreliable more and more often. Also, the picture refreshes on it about every 1 second, making the picture look choppy. I am not sure if that applies to all of them. I used to have a cheap GPS and the picture would be very stable. I am returning it to Tigerdirect. |

I bought mine refurbed here. Unit is easy to use out of the box, but don't throw away that road atlas just yet. If you type in an address and just follow it blindly you will be disappointed because it will take you out of the way. I recommend planning your route with an atlas or internet maps and pick intersecting roads or highways along the way called waypoints. Use the trip planner in the unit and put your waypoints in by intersection. When you reach a point it will let you resume to the next point. Works great. I could not be happier with this unit. |
