The keys are falling off of this laptop, and I've only had it for 3 weeks. Acer wants me to send it back for repair, which could take 5-7 days.

This laptop is extremely heavy. I wish I would have know that before my purchase. The mouse is awkward to use and not as responsive due to it being portable. I would have selected a different computer had a know these 2 things. The computer itself is fine. I would not buy again.

Cons:
5400rpm hard drive , goofy touchpad, and a DREADFUL screen. I couldn't believe that this was an LED backlit. The color is so off that my colorimeter had a difficult time color correcting it and then after color correction, everything had a pink hue. It's VERY dim. My measured light output was about what the reviews at an avg 200 cdm2 but that was half the light output of my current 17 avg 400 cdm2. The contrast and brightness shift and wash as you move the screen back and forth. If you want to add a second hard drive, it's almost impossible to find the mounting hardware. When I located it, it was almost a hunred bucks for the parts.
Bottom line.
I found the laptop unacceptable and returned it the next day for a refund.

I am using this laptop in my 3D Design work. It is critical that I get the most bang for the buck. I was concerned when I heard you could not get the hardware for the second hard drive. After much research including several phone calls I found the bracket and cable from Acer's U.S. parts distributer. All is well!

Great Laptop,a few caveats. The screens viewing angle, not just horizontally but vertically is too limited. At a normal distance(twice its diagonal) the top darkens and blacks start to solarize while the boottom washes out. Not a big issue with regular dektop work, but watching movies or Photoshop files its better to attach something to the HDMI Output. Video editing with Adobe Premiere CS 4 and 5 is impossible, while CS 5.5 shows promise, installed as a Trial. The Nvidia-Intel Graphic system with the Adobe does not mesh well, however Sony Vegas 9 and 10 work very well, even off an attached USB 3 single Drive . 3D work is excellent and renderspeed is over 3 times from a 2.93 Dual-Core. Craftsmanship and styling for Windows are the best I have seen so far at about half the price of an equivalent Mac.(of Course FCP would work, as Premiere does not, but I get to watch Blue-Rays).However, features, feel, finish, sound and performance are excellent and its worth it.
