The StarTech PCI2S550 2-Port 16550 Serial PCI Card lets you connect any serial peripheral, such as your modem or printer, through two integrated serial ports. It’s compatible with several versions of Windows, as well as DOS and Linux. It contains a data transfer speed of up to 460.8Kbits/sec, and a 16 byte FIFO buffer ensures fast data transfer while multi-tasking.

I bought this card after a USB/Serial cable that was supposedly Vista compliant repeatedly crashed the computer. Installed as it should (easily) and works just fine. Don't be put off by the box which doesn't list Vista as a supported OS. The driver is on the disk.

I had some initial issues with the product - though I believe it to be my own fault. Their technical support was excellent and I had a response from them through email and via phone in record times. The product works excellent and I highly recommend it!
