I've had my Pavilion for about 2 years. It has never given me any hardware problems. I have experienced minor software problems with some of the HP applications but nothing major. These were compatibility issues with Microsoft Vista. Overall, the system has been a solid purchase for me. I will definitely buy another PC of the same type....hopefully with an even larger display. |

Out of the box it is a stunning looking thing but it also has the hardest to see lettering of any computer ever. The touchpad was very flaky and would freeze the computer while it was jumping the volume setting all by itself. HP website no help just download and install every update. one of them apparently fixed it. 20 updates or so was an eternity. Battery lasted 8 months cooling tower whining like Paris Hilton cut odd from her trust account. Stay away from this!!! It should work as well as it looks. Very poor buy. |

I Purchased this computer in March of 2009 and the motherboard blew out July 2010. Cost of repair 500 dollars. Do yourself a favor and Purchase a service argeement if you plan on purchasing one of these things. I wrote to HP and lets see if they respond to my complaint. Someone called these things a 700 paperweight, well that sounds about right to me, only thing is this cost me more than that amount due to the cost of repair. Its too bad because I really enjoy having this laptop, 17 inch very nice but not worth all the money it ended up costing. |

Bought one-year ago; bad pixels, hassle to return, never reimbursed 32 shipping. New one works fine. After about seven months the DVD drive stops working. Hey - I bought the 2-year warranty. Good deal. Now, they want me to return computer and they'll refund purchase price. In a month. why. I use this for business and have much software to re-install; may end up replacing bad drive myself. Will definitely think twice about buying this brand, or at this place. Also, touchpad placement has cursor jumping all over. Big nuisance. My frustration and displeasure are at maximum levels. Otherwise, I've enjoyed the machine fine. |
