I purchased this laptop in July, 2010.
Overall, I have been very pleased with this laptop.
4 USB ports, HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, WiFi, but NO BlueTooth, Modem port and SD card reader along with the Multi-layer DVD-RW have made this extremely usable.
-Received a free OS upgrade from Acer which was seamless, easy and had no loss of information.
-Have never had over-heating issues--the back vents work well!
-The HD died on me, but the extended warranty saved me! Free shipping and box, HD was covered, Free installation. Great customer service.
-The LCD screen with FCL under-light is mediocre with some loss of color with viewing angles.
-It's not really meant as a 3D rendering gaming machine, so MMORPGs won't be awesome.
Seriously, can't believe how cheap it was

Very Big bang for the buck. Seems like most of the laptop is plastic(like the back of the screen and keyboard sides.)It runs well inside the operating system, but has issues going into safe mode, you have to fix your self. And gets the blue screen of death when trying to boot off of a Live CD, and it gets less than 3hrs of battery life.

Bought this for a soldier-friend of husband in Afghanistan, so I got to play with it first before I sent it. Was so very impressed with the great picture and loved the 2GB of video ram. After I got rid of all the preinstalled junk and tweaked Vista a bit it is really fast. Sent it off to our friend and he was also thrilled with it. You really cant beat it for the price. I just hope it goes on sale again around December cause this is all I want for Christmas. :D
