Nice box, plays everything I have so far. Even talks to my desktop via my home wireless network and plays my content there. Forget about playing HD content this way, throughput via the wireless dongle is the bottleneck. Since it has a RJ45 at the back, it will be nice if it actually browse to the internet by itself. Maybe one day I can use Netflix on this little box too. |

Patriot PCMPBO25 Box Office All-in-One Media Playe
I bought this for my bedroom TV. Haved used it for one night and so far, it has been excellent. Took me about 10min to hook up. That is including adding my spare 40gb drive into it.
Wifi connected right away, formatted HD and then streamed two tv shows through uPNP on my laptop. Worked better than my PS3. I then used to file copy, to copy two movies across the network. Was a bit slower than expected, but copied.
After copying I watched one of the movies and it worked perfect.
All my movies are divx.
Only reason I gave it a 4 in performance, is the file browsing is a slight bit slow. But nothing to complain about. |

Patriot PCMPBO25 Box Office All-in-One Media Playe
For the price, these media players are suitable HTPC alternatives. After installing the 2.5 HDD, this portable little media box is really handy. The interface is pretty clunky like most others, but you can't beat the value. It handles almost every video format I've tried. It does have some quirks, regarding subtitles and things, but all-in-all, I'm quite happy with its performance. |

Bought this unit quite a few months back - got tired of converting & burning BT video downloads to DVD. This unit has worked great, travels with me all the time - simple enough to hook up quickly to any TV & play. Menus rough, & I haven't got the wireless to operate other than very basically but I would recommend as a player. When you order, I would suggest bitting the bullet and also purchase an optional 2.5 |
