Got it as refurd'd looks like New. Easy to set up, no book needed. Easy to see and hear. Not a problem with it at all. Great features. Glad I picked this one over all the othesr I read up on.

I bought the Garmin Nuvi 1490T as a refurbished unit, and it worked perfectly, exactly as advertised. I originally hesitated because some Web reviewers complained that it was hard to make choices (that is, the touchscreen was unresponsive) or that the device kept losing contact with satellites, but I had no problems at all. The 1490T's larger screen comes in very handy. This model will also accommodate city pedestrian maps (which cost between $10 and $15 extra to download). Used this on my business trips and while I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, not once, but twice, the traffic information showed Green and no delay. Then, the unit routed me through a busy road section with stop lights and heavy traffic instead of just taking me to the next exit which was a major highway. I could have been doing highway speeds instead of stop and go. Not the best algorithm when you select the gps for the fastest time. Although this unit speaks the street names, in most cases, it sounds to me like it's gargling. Also, I noticed that this unit requires more pressure on the screen than my previous garmin. This took some getting used to but not a show stopper. So, other than the 5 inch screen, the traffic info was unimpressive and the mapping algorithm needs work. I'm glad I got this unit at a reduced cost, because it's not worth the full retail price. Garmin, what happend? You used to be the best! |

Ordered this GPS unit as an upgrade from an older Garmin GPS. They have the best price with free shipping here, item was sent via ground in 5 days and arrived packaged in NEW retail box. Followed manufacturer's instructions to charge and upload new software updates. Plugged unit in and it has worked flawlessly. BIG screen, vivid colors and all the features Speaks Street names, shows freeway views on lane changes, this unit is exact on position. Paired this with two cell phones to and the sound quality is better than my blue tooth headset. Clear static free and LOUD!! Hands free law makes this unit worth every penny. If your looking for a GREAT GPS this is an EXCELLENT unit for all the features and price. This is the one to have! 5 inch screen is SUPER! |
