Sometimes bound to fail . I used the memory configurator. I pulled out the 512 k of memory, stuck in the new memory and the pooter wouldn't boot. I put the old memory back in and the pooter still won't boot. Oh well. |

When the RAM arrived and I opened my computer and compared the new Kingston Ram Cards 1Gig each to the 512MB currently in my PC there was an obvious size difference. The Kingstion RAM cards were half the height of the original RAM cards. No worries, they snapped in and my system booted up and recognized the new cards with no problem. I was shocked because my system has Vista as an Operating System. Note the following website will give you direct information on how much RAM your system will handle, Crucial. The Kingston RAM is still working great after 6 weeks and it is cheap, do not hesitate to buy it. My windows side bar is now showing my memory running around 55% most of the time. A definate good purchase. I have a Kingston flash drive too and we have washed it twice and it continues to works like new. |

I don't really see a speed increase. Not saying it doesn't work. I think I should have bought a par with a 800mhz, instead of 667mhz |

What's New with DDR2.
DDR2 memory was developed by JEDEC, the memory industry's standards organization of which Kingston is a member company. DDR2 memory chips and modules use a naming convention similar to that used for the current DDR memory modules, but are not backward compatible due to incompatible module connections (number of pins), voltage and DRAM technology. DDR2 memory modules have a different key or notch than the same-sized DDR modules to prevent their insertion into an incompatible memory socket.
DDR2 memory chips will be available in Fine-pitch BGA (FBGA) chip packages for improved electrical and thermal characteristics. In addition, DDR2 memory chips will incorporate On-Die Termination (ODT) to minimize memory signal reflections at high speeds, thereby improving timing margins. DDR2 memory chips will come in capacities up to 4 Gigabits, allowing for higher-capacity modules
