The main thing was so that my husband and I could print through the router. The only bad thing that I can see is that I have to disconnect the printer when I want to scan or check to see the toner levels for the printer. Then I have to run the print server wizard again. So it does not do a two way communication if you have different functions on the printer (scanning, etc.)
Not for Multi-function printers

I have an HP psc 2410 Photosmart all-in-one printer. This product does not support all-in-one printers. IOGEAR has a GMFPSU21W6 Multi-Function Print Server that supports this printer, however, it does not have a Windows 7 driver yet and not date when one will be available. Overall I was disappointed that I was initially sold the wrong model and then that the model that should have worked would not support my operating system. Both went back and I'm not happy with IOGEAR.

My husband asked for this for Christmas. Our purpose was the ability to print wirelessly from anywhere in the house. Works good for us.

Never worked. IOGear support was the worst. I'll never buy IOGear again!

Purchased this wireless print server with my Canon IP3300 and it worked with all my wireless computers without a hitch. The performance is a little slower then if it was directly connected to a computer but that is to be expected. One thing I have noticed is sometimes the Canon printer queue will display a 'printer not responding' message when submitting a print job but the print job is actually sent to the printer and it does print fine. This only seems to occur if the signal strength to the wireless router is not strong so it may just be a timing issue.
All in all, very impressed and for the price, it does exactly what I want it to do.
Great and compact

I have 2 of these units and using a Sumgung ML2010 and a Samsung CLP510 laser printers and they work as if they are actually physically attached to my computer and not through a network. Had no problems setting up, quick and simple.

I got this for my Lexmark All-In-One. It installed quickly and easily but it would not print so I returned it. In the fine print somewhere I saw that it does not work with All-In-One printers.

The print server does not support Vista or multifunction printers. It was able to print Word 2007 documents, but not Excel 2007 documents in Vista 64bit. On XP Pro these documents printed fine. From XP Pro computer I could not scan on the same multifunction printer I could print to. Setup was more difficult than PnP, but was able to get a test print on both OS's in 5 minutes.

I'm and IT professional and I would not recommend this device with HP printers. I have setup HP print servers before and I never could get this one to work, so exchanged it, had the same problems with the second one. Called support they told me to exchange it again, not very helpful.
