The Good:
Great price, small and light, good brand, nice compatibility with other LG products (meaning you can use only the TV remote for both)
The Bad:
Very slow on startup. I mean VERY slow.
If you push the buttons on the unit too fast, it will turn off.
The response is slow, so that sometimes I push twice on the remote, assuming it did not work.
The Worse:
Upscaling feature has ZERO impact.
There is no noticeable effect whatsoever on the quality of the image on my HDTV (1080p).

I purchased two. One for my sister and one for myself. My first and only dvd player lasted ten years and I really wanted a upconverter so I could take advantage of my HDTV. The first two had minor issues. One did not recognize my pen drive on the usb. The second would get stuck at random spots on any dvd. I called and got a RMAand they were very helpful and the process of getting replacement dvd players was beyond easy. Kudos for their outstanding customer service. The new players arrived right on time as promised and both work perfectly. I highly recommend the product and the company. |

Made it through 1/2 of a movie when it died. Not only died but can't get the movie back out. Still waiting for LG to send me a return shipping label so they can fix it and send it back with the movie still in it. |

Maybe the true Blu-ray enthusiasts can tell the difference between this upconvert dvd player and a blu-ray machine, but I can't, and the price was right for me ($50). Set-up with HDMI was a snap, first time for me on that set-up. Picture is very good with my new LG LCD 42". |

I got this to replace an old DVD player - still using an analog TV. Easy to set up. Remote is understandable and easy to use, although I like a shape on the keys so I can tell them apart by feel in the dark - this one only has the function printed on the key.
My old player would freeze on certain DVD's - possibly due to scratches. THis one plays those DVD's fine, so I am very pleased. The picture is good. The remote can be used to control your TV, but only if it is one of a very limited list - too limited in my opinion - mine is not on the list. Can't comment on upconvert because I don't use it. All in all, I would buy this unit again - it meets my needs quite well at a great price, and delivery was quick. |

I bought this player to up convert... it works a lil bit. I mean with HDMI it gives you a slightly cleaner picture than RCA cables. It's an ''alright'' product for the price but my computer's $40 video card and a 15-pin, D-Sub, and Catalyst make my normal DVD's look near blu-ray. |
