The battery on my unit will not reach or maintain a full charge. Once the unit is unplugged from the car charger the unit dies within 30 minutes. My faulty unit is not picking up a GPS signal, so I assume. A previous location which is 25mi from my home is continuing to show as my current location.
This was a very expensive paper weight! I'm very disappointed! |

I bought this unit from Tiger back in May of this year. Have been very happy with it and even use it when I know exactly where I'm going. I am a gadget person and just find it reassuring to have along. Have used it to take me to large metropolitan areas as well as off the beaten path on back roads and never get lost. I use the USB cable and charger that came with my Blackberry Pearl and they work perfect. I bought the custom case from Magellan and it affords very good protection and is well made even if a little pricey. One funny aside is the pronunciation of names here in Quebec, '' and I thought my pronunciation of French names was bad''. Again I love this GPS and the refurb is A One, but then those that bought on sale got a $560.00 msrp. unit for under a hundred! |

I bought the refurbished one ($89) and it seems to be working great. I still don't have any complaints. For those of you complaining I suggest you see whether there are any firmware updates online. As for the maps they were 2007 version on my refurbished product but I was able to receive the 2009 update for free. All you have to do is provide the pdf invoice which can be download from tigerdirect. It doesn't matter that it's refurbished as long as it's within 30 days of your purchase. As for the wall charger or the computer cable you can probably get something really cheap (eg. under $5) on internet or if you have cable from a Motorola phone those should work fine, too. |

This is my first GPS, how did I ever get anywhere without this little gem? Very handy for planning trips, gives you an estimated time of arrival that updates as you go, it does an excellent job of adjusting the route if you make a wrong turn or choose to alter the route yourself. I purchased a refurbished one, and wouldn't have known it was anything but new. Very easy to set up in the vehicle, and the large screen is easy to view. Very pleased, have recommended it to several friends and they love it as well. |
