The warranty for the WD Passport is a joke. I had to open the case to get my files off the drive inside because the USB to Sata chip stopped working. It's really simple to do but voids your warranty. Strongly consider buying a case and drive separately. I replaced the case with another better working case. I've bought a lot through tigerdirect.ca there great.

Had this drive for a around 6 months. The other day all of a sudden the drive was no longer being found when I plugged it in to my computer. The problem was that a small chip, L2, had popped off the circuit board rendering the drive unless. I just baught a 30 encloser and dropped the hard drive into it and I'm back up and running. To have a chip come off a surface mount board is not a good sign.

Plug and play at it's best. Needed a large hard drive for carting files from work and home so we got this. Works like a charm. Plug it in, let it rock. Keep in mind, it's only 5400 so it's not going to run super fast, but it's quick enough. Has a small footprint. Also, comes with a short data cable, which is kind of annoying, but it works.
