Map update works as advertized- one time within 30 days for $10. As of Aug 2010, the last map update is Spring 2009. Latest Software was 4.86, and came installed on my refurb GPS. Other newer Magellan units use a newer database and have newer maps. I would not count on future map upgrades for the 4250. Then again bybg the time you want to spend seventy dollars on a new map, you probably want a new GPS. I have not tried voice commands. I have not tried blue tooth. Audio is good. I have the volume less than max, and the speaker is clear, not overdriven. |

You will Love it!!! Even in Honolulu where the street names all sound the same it peroformed flawlessly. I will not drive without it. I own two other GPS (one is Magellan one is a TomTom Go910) Very clear directions. A chime tells you exactly where to turn (chime means turn right here) All the added feature are cool and just icing on the cake. Easy to use and program. Couple that with sales support from this site and this is a real winner! I have bought many, many refurbished items from here - Saved lots of money and every item looked new and performed 100 % like new! Fast shipper. I have been 100% satisfied with this retailer and their products, buy assured that you will be too. |

Voice directions not very clear, the updated maps ($10 charge for shipping) are ourt of date.
Generates frequent and annoying recalculating route messages while driving.
The voice recognition function is useless.
Marginally OK buy at $99, waste of money at full price. |
