This laptop does everything I expected it to do. After going to BestBuy and not being satisfied with what I was finding, this laptop had everything that I needed and more. Vista was a bit of a pain to get used to but the computer is great. Would highly recommend Acer and this store.

great service....ordered fri.PM & received following tues AM. My 1st notebook.....last 2 towers were WIN98!! Been putting my spare change into hometheater equipment. Extra ''garbage'' programs insalled from Acer will slowly be deleted
once I'm sure it's not needed. All n' all seems to be agreat buy.

I got this laptop for downgrading & try backing up Vista beforehand, but the backup util couldn't find my dvd burner (albeit windows could). I updated vista thinking that was the issue, but then I get locked out of it because some pirate already has my reg key. Acer never replied via email so instead of dragging this out for a POS software I will never use, I just went for the downgrading option.
Downgrading is possible, but it is a tiny bit difficult. You have to get all the drivers from Acer, but they don't provide the SATA drivers for the hard drive (unless you want to go into the bios and change to IDE emulation and essentially slow it down).
You have to do a search for Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers that are already deployed for a diskette (it's hard to find but it is out there just do a search for 'xp sata 7730' on google and the second link has user comments that are helpful).
After that, you slipstream XP with nlite, downgrade, and you then have one sweet lapto
