This is my first actual computer purchase here, and I'm certain it will not be my last. I've needed a new laptop for some time, but was hesitant to go with Vista. The 4GB DDR3 and 64-bit system made me feel better, and I must say this laptop is lightning fast. The startups take approx 90 sec, including Norton and Gadgets, that's running ASC3 as Registry Cleaner and system maintenance. Wireless N works great, the Lenovo software is useful, but most will probably say it's needless bloatware. Even has HDMI and eSATA ports, but only TWO USB!!! HD comes partioned, 252/30. I paid $650 and with these specs feel like I got a deal. Lenovo is quality, the display is beautiful, piano black and gloss white case is pristine, speakers are adequate for a laptop. I hope they will offer recent purchasers a Windows 7 upgrade since I just missed the actual offering of one from MS.

I've only had the Y550 for a coupe of weeks, but so far no problems or complaints. I decided to try Lenovo because I've read several good reviews about their products. My only sugggestion is that every vendor should supply the OS installation and software disks. Dell does and it was much easier for me to reimstall the windows OS when I had a recent hard drive crash.

As usual fast delivery So far the laptop has been excellent. The display is the brightest sharpest I've ever had but this is my first laptop. I really like the LED backlite display. Battery life seems good also. Of course it is loaded with a lot of crapware - what can your do?
The system boots pretty fast even using the face recognition. I hooked it to my 50'' Samsung DLP via HDMI and it work out OK but I need to do some ''messaging'' of the resolution so get things in the proper proportions. All-in-all a excellent laptop. |
