The MSI Platinum is built to run the fastest Intel processors. With a Socket
775 geared for Intel Core2 series including Core2 Duo, Core2 Quad, Core2 Extreme,
the Intel Pentium series including Pentium D, Pentium 4, Pentium XE/Celeron
D processors, this is the board specifically designed for 32 and 64 bit computing
architecture. With an NVIDIA nForce 650i Chipset, the MSI P6N Platinum Motherboard
is capable of FSB speeds from 533MHz to 1333MHz (this requires 1333FSB CPU and
manual FSB adjustment in the BIOS)!
Connectivity Is Not An Issue.
There's a host of other on-board features, including 8 USB 2.0 ports, four in
the front, 4 in the back. Other connections include a floppy port that runs
1 FDD, 360K, 720K, 1.2M, 1.44M, and 2.88MB. A 5-in-1 Audio jack, RJ45 LAN jack,

The MSI Platinum is not for the timid. It supports Dual Channel DDR2 memory
up to 8GB. It also is ready for Dual PCI Express 16x interface with either 1x16
or 2x8 operation. There's also a PCI express x1 slot and three 32 bit master
PCI Bus slots. Capable of RAID 0, 1, 0+1, or RAID 5 configurations, this board
is designed to optimize game play or other graphics intensive operations. The
mainboard BIOS provides "Plug & Play" BIOS which detects the peripheral
devices and expansion cards of the board automatically, and also provides a
Desktop Management Interface (DMI) function which records your mainboard specifications.

this is a refurb, so I didn't have high expectations for presentation; but I got the first one, it was missing accessories and the I/O shield plate. Then when I installed it, the SATA controller started barfing almost immediately. Hung my O/S install partway through. RMA'd it, and the replacement was in great shape, had all parts and A PRINTED MANUAL!!! (Those are rare these days) Working great ever since. |

Ive had my P6N Platinum for about 2 weeks now and I must say that I love it. It is running all 6 gigs and vid cards flawlessly, I did have some issues with the Ethernet port but after I found the correct drivers from Nvidia it was all plug/update and play. Great boards so far. A+++ |

I actually own three of these boards. I've been extremely pleased with them thus far. No issues or concerns. I've been running two of them for 1.5 years now and they continue to go strong. I felt this board offered several features and supreme quality while keeping the price within reason. |

The mobo was defective out of the box returned it to Msi for an exchange, still waiting. The box was missing a few parts including an user's guide,SLI bridge,and parallel IDE cables. |
