Big, Heavy, second one working

This is a VERY BIG and heavy (66 lbs.) printer. That being said; The first one I received was not functioning properly. Called TD and Oki, after going through the troubleshooting in the manual, to find out the printer was not going be fixed by anything I could do externally. The second one was sent and it does seem to function, so far. I am a bit disappointed with the black output but for the price, it is an okay utility printer. |

Any company truest test is when something goes wrong. When the printer worked, it works well.
Internal board problem, ultimately fixed.
Total Page Count 1700 and the drum went bad 1 month before Warranty Expired. Drums have a average life of 5000 or more pages and some you will see 8000 or more. Defective drum they refused to fix.
Could I have sued; yes. Would I have won; yes. Is it worth the hassle, absolutely not.
Too many companies out there to play games with this one. Chose another product.

this printer is overall good however it came only with $0% of toner left in it,
so looks like that remanufactured printer is really not up to factory spec
putting few tapes and locking fuser leaver and making ready to ship does not really mean remanufactured. |

Had a oki 5100 which needed a new fuser and belt. This printer has even better photo output than my old one and it was cheaper than the parts to fix my old one. I love this printer. I figure about 30 cents a page for a full page photo print which is about half the cost of my inkjet and better color when printing on plain paper. |
They didn't say the toners were compatibles...

I own 3 other printers of this model, I would consider myself an expert on it's functioning. If there is one thing I do know about this printer it is that you do NOT use compatibles in it. After the first set of compatible toners you begin to develop streaks because compatibles dry out the drums and you need to replace them. This printer arrived with a set of compatible toners pre-installed and OPEN. I don't know how much they have been used - I don't even know the company who manufactured them What I do know is that they are not genuine Oki. I never would have purchased this printer had I known that I was only going to get limited use from it. I will probably need to buy a new set of drums - then a new set of toners before I will use this printer in my business. I should have paid the extra money for a NEW printer. |
