Using powerdirector 7 to digitise my home movies ex the old 8mm video camera, but after a few seconds of recording, it stops and I get this error message

This product has the absolute worst audio I have seen. The audio level is so over-driven that I can't get decent audio quality. I have adjusted the microphone properties (it uses the microphone jack) and the properties in the capture software all to no avail. Plus the software is more or less a demo version - not full feature. You will have to pay an additional $50 to make it fully functional. Do not buy this product.

Loaded easily on Win 7.0 64-bit system. Performed as advertised but much slower than expected for higher quality reproduction. Pop-up ads for updating the software at a hefty price becomes annoying and only suggests your ''new'' system is seriously outdated.

I was pleased that it worked with my WinXP-64 but I was disappointed that I couldn't get it to work under LINUX. Maybe I'll find a way later. At any rate, it does a good job of capturing VHS movies to DVD.
